Resources:I have put a folder in the REC folder in Resources called YOG- Dio Resources. This folder has resources to do with the Year of Grace, including a powerpoint explaining the stain glass windows in St. Patrick’s Cathedral in Ballarat.
There is also the 7th National eConference on Wednesday 10th October from 10:30 – 3:00pm. This
conference will is called Vatican 11 An Event of Grace. If you are interested in participating, the website is: http://grace.vividas.com. This conference will enable you to claim 2.5 hours for the purpose of Accreditation to Teach in a Catholic School (CECV 1.6 - category a or c).
Bishop Paul Bird: Our new bishop will be ordained on the 16th of October. I have included some information about him with this newsletter. You can also have a look at the Redemptorist’s website: www.cssr.org.au. There is also some information on the Cath News website: www.cathnews.com/article.aspx?aeid=32379
Mission Month: October is Mission Month. The theme this year is: Restore Hope to a Special Someone. Most year levels should be completing their Mission unit at this time. There are resources available on: www.catholicmission.org.au Click on World Mission Month and there are resources and movies.
There will be a whole school Mission Mass on the 26th of October.
Reconciliation: The Grade 2 children will begin their preparation to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation later this term. The information night will be held on the 15th of October.
Operation Christmas Child: Please encourage your children to support this program. The boxes are available at the office and there is a cd to show where the boxes go to. These boxes will be collected during October. You can also look at the website below. It has resources and information. You can also track the progress of any
boxes that you send off.
